Dear friends and colleagues,

We are in the countdown for the I Joint Meeting Brazil/Argentina on Neuromodulation & II International Joint Meeting on Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. Roughly one month to go.

We have done our very best to make this an unforgettable and outstanding meeting. The faculty is made up of high standard specialists in the field of Neuromodulation and Functional Neurosurgery. Fifteen colleagues from outside the frontiers of South and Central America gladly accepted our invitation and will delight us with their presence and knowledge.

The Scientific Program was finally finished, and is simply gorgeous. It will be available at the meeting web site (www.scripteventos.net/recobran2010) from October 17th on. Please, take a careful look at it and see why you cannot allow yourself to not attend this meeting: state-of-the-art conferences on the most recent advances in Neuromodulation; “spicy” and “pros and cons” sessions to debate controversial issues in an attempt to reach a consensus as to how best deal with the presented problems; and oral presentation sessions, a time allocated for those willing to show their experience, new techniques and most recent discoveries. And to make it even better, all these sessions will be held in a single room, attendants and speakers side by side in a very warm, friendly and informal atmosphere. Remember that ties and suits are officially prohibited during all scientific sessions. Please, do not be the only one to try to break this golden rule.

The deadline for abstract submission was extended to Nov 5th. Only 20 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. The main author of the best one, elected by a committee still to be designated for this end, will receive the Ronald Tasker Award, one of the most important persons of the whole history of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. Hopefully, he will be among us to deliver the award in his homage to the luck winner personally. Let’s cross our fingers! The award, constituted by an official plaque and US$2000.00 (two thousand American dollars), is a donation from Diros Technology Inc., in the person of its CEO, Mr. George Darmos.

The meeting web site, updated in a daily basis, was built to help you. There, and only there, you can make your registration, submit your abstract, and book your hotel.

The conference room of Castro’s Park Hotel, the official hotel of the meeting, has the capacity for only 400 people. So, we urge you to make your registration very soon. Also, be aware that the registration fee will double after November 5th, and that online registration will expire on November 7th. After that, it will be possible only at the meeting site. For those interested to attend the Pre-congress Course on Microrecording (Nov 17th, from 10:00 to 12:00 am), an initiative of Micromar and AlphaOmega, remember that, although free, the number of places available is limited and that the only way to reserve your place is while doing the registration.

The number of blocked rooms at Castro’s Park Hotel is also limited. For this very reason, if you wish the comfort of staying at the hotel where the meeting will be held for a very affordable price, actually the best hotel in Goiânia, be sure to book the hotel really fast.

Finally, we would like to share with you a great news. We have asked from all speakers to send us a short article of their talks. Most of them have already committed themselves. That, associated with the abstracts, will make the Official Program of the meeting something more than worth keeping, a true gift for all attendants.

Goiânia will be truly delighted to receive all of you. So will us!

See you on November 17th!

Warmest regards,
